Small Robot Company offers precision micro-spraying and physical weeding using robots aiming to reduce chemical usage by up to 95%
Small Robot Company is a vendor aiming at making farms more profitable by maximising their yield and efficiency. The company offers a service which comprises of small robots instead of tractors for rop and soil monitoring, precision spraying and laser weeding, precision drilling and planting as well as an operating system based on AI-driven neural network. The company claims it will reduce chemical usage and cultivation energy in arable farming by up to 95%.
"Dick: Precision feeding and weeding, saving chemicals and wildlife.
Dick lives back at Small Robot Central, but is brought out to your farm when he is needed. Dick micro-sprays each plant with fertilisers or chemicals as required to help it thrive. Dick precisely sprays the plant and puts the fertiliser onto the roots.
Dick also uses non chemical weed control to isolate each individual weed and eradicates them to stop them competing with the crop.
Dick has three ways to deal with weeds. He can micro-spray a tiny amount of the chemical on the weed, burn them, or crush the weed as it comes out of the ground." (smallrobotcompany)
The company is collecting data to train the neural networks, while the full service will become available over the next three years.
"The company will make farms more profitable, and increase yield and efficiency, through using small robots instead of tractors. Its arable farming robots Tom, Dick and Harry will enable farmers to be kinder to soil, kinder to the environment, more efficient, more precise and more productive."
