Project Overview
"Using Intel's IOT sensors and edge analytics SteadyServ has built a draft beer management system that allows customers to monitor the amount of beer in retail locations and use this to predict demand and plan inventory and restocking.
SteadyServ’s primary product is a smart scale that weighs kegs to the ounce, letting retailers know exactly how much beer they have in each keg and when it needs to be changed. The scales work with SteadyServ’s iKeg app, which displays the volume of each keg and can even connect to an establishment’s point of sale (POS) system to track sales metrics and predict the performance of other beers the retailer could choose to carry."

Background
"According to Beer Institute, when a consumer’s choice is not available, they will drink one-third less. In the U.S. last year, there were six billion pints of beer served at the average price of $5.50, which is an opportunity cost of $690 million,” said Steve Hershberger, co-founder and CEO of SteadyServ Technologies, LLC."
